Blurb:
If you can make it out of Enid High School alive, you can make it through anything.

Alexis is the new girl at school, and she’s ruthlessly bullied. Hopeless, and drowning in her present reality, she takes pills—lots of pills. She’s sent to a mental health facility, where she meets a boy. Only the boy can’t save her, and no one can save her from herself.

Nick has secrets. He wants to open up to Alexis, but there’s the dead boy who haunts him. In his dreams. While he’s awake. He wants to be brave, but he can’t tell her about his past, and he can’t leave the facility.

Melanie rules over the school, until a nobody named Lexie tries to disrupt her reign. She won’t allow that. She also can’t stop it. She plummets into notoriety, but she’s determined to take them all with her. The girl, the boy, and their secrets.

Excerpt:
Nick’s arm brushes against mine as we cross the street, and he flinches.

I grit my teeth, holding in my irritation until we reach the beginning of the path. Then I slam my hands on my hips and glare at him. “Okay, what is your deal? If you really didn’t want to be with me today, why didn’t you just say it?”

He opens his mouth.

My glower deepens.

“I don’t like being out in public. I don’t…like being around people,” he says after a pause. “I like to be alone.”

I throw my arms up in frustration. “Then why did you agree to this?”

Nick steps closer. “But I like to be with you more than I like to be alone, and even though I don’t like to be around people, I like to be around you—probably more than I should. How could I say no to being with you, even if it’s in a setting I despise?”

“That’s messed up,” I say, shaking my head, even as a warm glow fills my insides.

“I’m messed up.”

“You’re not, not really.”

He lowers his head, taking my hands in his. Examining them. It feels like fire and ice when we touch. Sparks and frost. “You have no idea, Alexis.” Nick threads our fingers together, lifting our hands between us, and looks at me.

“Tell me,” I whisper, feeling like I can’t breathe. My air is caught somewhere within the magnetic pull of blue-green seas. Who needs to breathe anyway?

“Someday,” he promises, and then, with our hands still entwined, he leans forward and kisses me.

His lips are soft, firm. Magic. Tasting of dreams and hope. And grief too. I’m kissing not only Nick, but his soul as well. I feel his heartbeat with my lips. I taste the feelings he has for me, and they are overwhelming. Catastrophically beautiful. The kiss lasts long enough to rearrange everything inside me, to steal my breath, to give it back. To let me know Nick has the power to ruin me. To let me know I’d probably let him.

Dear Future Husband - Part One

I've been waiting my whole damn life for you.
I've kissed many frogs and battled many demons to find you.
So this is going to be my present to you.
A cheat sheet if you will.
This is my introduction to you.

My name is Krista.
I am 30 years old.
I have been in love 6 times.
I want my 7th time to be the last.
Out of all of the 6 times I fell in love, I was lied to 6 times. I was cheated on 4 times. I had my heart broken all 6 times.

My longest relationship was less than 2 years. I know that I'm worth loving. I know that I will make someone very happy someday. It's just going to take time.

I have a favor to ask of you FH, if I may...if you ever feel any reason to stray, please break it off first. I don't understand why people cheat, to have their cake and eat it too? If you want to be with other people, be with other people, just leave me out of it, that's all I ask.

Important Details:
I am a Taurus, and one to the core. I am stubborn and bullheaded, passionate and strong. I have had my most passionate relationships with Cancers, Tauruses, and Virgos.

I am a singer, actress, and author. Creativity is everything to me. You need to be semi-interested in what makes me - me.

I have a cat so if you are allergic, well, you won't be, that's why I am doing this! My cat's name is Soldier, he's a gangsta.

I am very big on affection, whether it's physical, emotional, or even gifts-I accept it all.

That's it for this segment. Until next time....

She's mysterious, hiding behind sunglasses that cover most of her face. I ask her name and try to get her to talk on the rare occasions I see her in the hallway, but every time she ignores me and turns away. I need to know more about this woman, I can't get her out of my head. Do I keep trying? Do I keep asking her name?

Ashton: I’m barely holding on. I’m always on the edge, even after all these years. I live every day the same and I can’t change who I am no matter how much I try. My new neighbor won't give up asking my name and trying to make conversation with me. If he knew me he wouldn't keep trying. I'm a lost cause.

Excerpt:

I sucked in a breath. “Are you trying to kill me?”
“A little dramatic don’t you think, Ashton.” She stood up and smoothed out her clothes.
Suzanne was tall, skinny, and blonde and sometimes she wore glasses. Other than that, I don’t pay attention to people or the unique details they all have. They all blend into categories, and I can’t see past that. They are short or tall, fat or skinny, and the only other thing I notice is usually their hair color. And I guess glasses. Sometimes those stick out to me.
My world is boring.
Bland.
Dull and lifeless.
Sometimes the beating of my heart is the only thing that reminds me that I'm alive.
“I’m scared, Suzanne.”
I’m always so fucking scared.
“Anxiety can do that to you.”

When Phoenix Blue, the President of the United States, and all of his staff go missing, Ace Cullen is determined to piece together their whereabouts and save the love of his life before it's too late. Ike Glass knows he must stay behind and be a leader amongst the group inside the White House walls. Neveah is counting on him, and he won't let her down.

Things haven't been easy since they met, but these three friends are going to learn the real meaning of family as they continue to fight for their lives, and rebuild the world around them. This time they're going in with their eyes open, because even with flickers of hope, the darkness remains.

Ike

Trudging my way back, I safely make it back inside our compound. Slipping inside through one of the sliding glass doors on the lower level, I make my way back up to our living quarters. The stench of the dried blood from the lost souls is enough to knock anyone off their feet. I don’t even know what time it is, but I’m heading straight for my shower, wanting to cleanse myself thoroughly.

As soon as my bedroom door closes, I toss the dangerous weapon to the ground, the needles and blood reaching the carpet at the same time. I pull off my shirt, kick off my socks and shoes, and begin unbuttoning my pants. I make a beeline for my closed bathroom door, and throw it open, already anticipating the feeling of the hot water along my shoulder blades. I’ve been wound up too tight lately.

I don’t anticipate the hot steam that attacks my face or the sound of running water coming from my shower. My mind begins racing as I dash around the room, headed for my bedside drawer where I keep my loaded gun. I grip it tightly as I approach the hot air pouring out of the bathroom. I swallow, my heartbeat speeding up. Taking small steps, I try not to make my presence known. All my defenses are up, and I want to know who is toying with me.
